Start Your Engines, The 66th Formula One Season is Here!
Sunday, March 15, marks the start of the 66th season of Formula One racing, the most prestigious racing series in the world. Beginning in Melbourne, Australia and ending in Abu Dhabi on November 29, 20 drivers representing 10 teams will test the limits of human and technological performance in 20 Grands Prix, as they compete for the World Drivers’ and World Constructors’ Championships.
For you Formula One racing fans, you already know that Infiniti plays a major role in the series as sponsor of the Red Bull Racing team, winner of four World Drivers’ Championships with speed phenom Sebastian Vettel at the wheel. Vettel left the team at the end of last season and is being replaced by a 19 year-old Russian, Daniil Kvyat. The car Kvyat is driving is the RB10, a magnificent looking machine that was on display at this year’s Chicago Auto Show. Also on display was Nissan’s GT-R LM NISMO.
Nissan’s rich racing heritage – dating back to 1936 under the Datsun name – and its well deserved reputation for advancing the boundaries of automotive technology, is reflected in every Nissan and Infiniti vehicle on the road today. Racing embodies the ultimate test of performance, durability and longevity of Nissan products.
